Awash in green light in the taxi
The ancient moon
                   here new to me		
makes you nod off while I dream
 
I think 
I’ve seen the side of every road
Alex says they all lead somewhere
I’ve been told

At night I go fishing	I find the hand to hold
when the river is high at night
                 I write
hate can live in the heart too, right?

My mind alight
	I ask the driver
will I know what it’s for 		upon my arrival?

And if you loved me then
can you stay loving me now, tonight

even though I’m far away
when I flip the vinyl

the man sings joy to the world
and it goes round and round
til everything 	everything      is final
