One day we will understand what this is all for.
	Transforming before my eyes  					
	      higher you climb as your voice declines
with the passing of time that I try to ignore 		

I think maybe it was you stretched across the sky 
as we reached the final inning
	that rainbow outside the superstore glistening

I know every end is a beginning. 		
        I fold your clothes and smooth your linen. 

If there’s ever a minute deep in the cave of your mind that’s timid
if you shout in airwaves across state lines
      or find yourself standing 
      stuck between green highway signs
I’ll be in the soons and the sometimes	
whispering always through the pines 
            It is here, brother, already. 	
It was within you	      all this time.
